A local news station has a bit they call “VERIFY” in which one of their crack reporters checks the veracity of a claim (e.g., the government giving away free solar panels, there is a subvariant of COVID-19 called “Super-Centaurus, there is a health impact of natural gas odor, it is “plausible” that the Loch Ness Monster is real, you need sunscreen when it is raining, Walmart is banning plastic bags nationwide) found on social and other media…that they think there is a need for this is part of the absurdity and clear evidence that we have lost our way…
